North Shore Bank’s November “Bank on Kindness” Initiative to Support Honor Flights for Area Veterans

Community encouraged to donate to support veterans; North Shore Bank to match donations
Brookfield, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced that Stars and Stripes Honor Flight located in Menomonee Falls and Old Glory Honor Flight located in Menasha will be the focus of the bank’s community give-back program, “Bank on Kindness,” a campaign and support local efforts of the Wisconsin non-profit organizations. Between today, Nov. 1, until Nov. 14, the public can donate to the southeast and northeast Honor Flights through a community-focused website created by North Shore Bank.

The program’s online donation portal offers an easy way for people to donate to either or both of the non-profits, plus North Shore Bank will match all donations up to $2,000 for each organization. The bank has also established a $1,000 surprise and delight fund for its employees to tap into to award local veterans and active-duty men and women, and veteran support organizations with acts of kindness.

“During the month of November especially, it’s extremely important to recognize our local heroes and veterans, which is why we’re thrilled to support the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight and Old Glory Honor Flight through our Bank on Kindness campaign,” said Susan T. Doyle, senior vice president of retail banking at North Shore Bank.

"We have colleagues, customers, neighbors, family, and friends who have bravely served our country making this campaign particularly close to our hearts. Thank you in advance to all of those who join us in donating to create an unforgettable experience for multiple area veterans."

The Honor Flight organizations currently accept applications for WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and terminally ill veterans from other wars and are taking flight again. The funds received during this campaign will give veterans in northeast and southeast Wisconsin the opportunity to join upcoming Honor Flight Missions in 2022. The cost to sponsor one veteran’s flight is approximately $500.

To contribute to local Honor Flight organizations, the public can text “Kindness” to 77948 to receive a link to the website via text or visit https://give.mastercard.com/p/northshorebank. Individuals do not need to be a North Shore Bank customer or Mastercard card holder to donate.

Previous Bank on Kindness initiatives have raised funds for area food pantries as well as animal-related non-profits. Another give-back campaign cause will be announced in spring of 2022.
