Milwaukee Banking and Community Leader Alfredo Martin Named Milwaukee Notable Latino Leader

Brookfield, Wis. – North Shore Bank, today announced that Alfredo Martin, the bank’s assistant vice president and community engagement manager, has been named a Milwaukee BizTimes Notable Latino Leader.

This prestigious recognition honors Notable Latino Leaders throughout southeastern Wisconsin that make an impact and lead in their organizations and community.

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized alongside so many accomplished Latino leaders in the Milwaukee area,” said Alfredo Martin. “I’m proud to work with such an outstanding team of colleagues, community partners, and customers who show up for one another and our community.”

Martin’s dedication goes beyond his work at his branches. He is known for hosting local weekly radio segments, bilingual financial seminars, and forging key partnerships with organizations like the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Southeastern Wisconsin. Most recently, Martin participated in Racine’s Kids Program, bringing third graders information on how to manage, save, and use their money.

Recognized for his dedication, Martin received the Governor’s Financial Literacy Award by the Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy and Capability in 2021.

“Alfredo is a true Latino Leader, not just at our North Shore Bank offices, but throughout the communities he supports every day,” said Jay McKenna, president and CEO of North Shore Bank. “We’re fortunate to have him on our team, dedicating his time, talent, and heart to our customers, employees, and the communities we serve.”

Recognized for his lasting impact on Milwaukee’s Latino community, Martin is also the driving force behind the beloved Southside Dining Week, an event that celebrates the vibrant food, culture, and spirit of Milwaukee’s south side neighborhoods.

His deep community ties trace back to 2004, when he played a key role in establishing North Shore Bank’s first branch inside a multicultural supermarket—the first of its kind in Wisconsin—which he has managed ever since. This groundbreaking initiative expanded access to essential banking services and introduced culturally relevant financial education to a historically underserved area.
