BROOKFIELD, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced that it will host a food collection to support local children in need at its Sussex branch (W249 N6600 Hwy 164) through June 30. The food collected will provide lunches to students in need during the summer months.

The community is invited to drop off food items, including granola bars, soup, fruit cups, juice boxes, crackers, boxed macaroni and cheese, canned ravioli, applesauce cups, pudding cups and fruit snacks, or monetary donations at the bank during normal business hours. All food collected will be given to the Sussex Food Pantry for distribution to local children.

In addition, the branch will host a Race for the Hungry event at the Sussex Piggly Wiggly on Thursday, June 11 at 10 a.m. Local Girl and Boy Scouts will race down the grocery store aisles, filling their carts with items from the food pantry wish list. The winner will receive $100 for their troop and the losing team $50 for the troop. All food collected during the race will be donated to the Sussex Food Pantry.
