Supermarket race to benefit St. Joseph's Food Program

01/06/2020

BROOKFIELD, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced that it will host the eleventh annual Race for the Hungry event at Menasha Piggly Wiggly, 1151 Midway Road. Race for the Hungry is an annual community event that challenges participants in a head-to-head competition to support local food pantries.

This year’s event will benefit St. Joseph’s Food Program. Representatives from the food pantry and the Salvation Army Children’s Learning Center will race through the supermarket aisles to fill the pantry’s wish list. The winner will receive a $100 gift card and the runner-up will receive a $50 card. North Shore Bank will donate the food collected during the race to the pantry.

“We’re thrilled to be hosting our eleventh annual Race for the Hungry to help our neighbors in need,” said Lacee Kalepp, branch manager for the bank. “We encourage everyone to get involved, whether by dashing up and down supermarket aisles or by donating non-perishable food items. Together we can help make a family’s New Year a little brighter.”

The race between the two selected finalists will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8.  All items collected during the race will feed local families in need.
