North Shore Bank Hosts Thirteenth Annual Race for the Hungry in Kenosha

Supermarket racers collect $540 in food to benefit Grace Welcome Center
KENOSHA, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced its thirteenth annual Race for the Hungry event at Kenosha Festival Foods, 3207 80th St., collected $542.73 in food to be donated to Grace Welcome Center. Race for the Hungry is an annual community event that challenges participants in a head-to-head competition to support local food pantries.

Representatives from Grace Welcome Center teamed up to race through the supermarket aisles to fill the pantry’s wish list. The winner received a $100 gift card, and the runner-up received a $50 card. North Shore Bank donated the food collected during the race to the pantry, feeding local families in need. North Shore Bank also gifted Grace Welcome Center with a new lap top to help with the pantry’s donation tracking efforts.

“We’re thrilled to grow our partnership with Grace Welcome Center through our annual Race for the Hungry,” said Mary Benz, AVP and community engagement manager for the Kenosha area communities. “We’re proud to support Grace Welcome Center so they can continue their mission of serving our community. We encourage everyone to get involved by donating non-perishables to Grace Welcome Center directly or providing a monetary donation through our Bank on Kindness website.”

For the second year, North Shore Bank is supporting Grace Welcome Center and other local food pantries through its Bank on Kindness give-back program. From now until Feb. 20, the public can donate directly to local food pantries of their choice through the community-focused website or by texting “Kindness” to 77938. North Shore Bank will be matching all donations up to $500 for each non-profit.
