MENASHA, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced that it will host the twelfth annual Race for the Hungry event at Menasha Piggly Wiggly, 1151 Midway Road. Race for the Hungry is an annual community event that challenges participants in a head-to-head competition to support local food pantries.

This year’s event will benefit St. Joseph’s Food Program. Representatives from St. Joseph’s Food Program will be teaming up to race through the supermarket aisles to fill the pantry’s wish list. The winner will receive a $100 gift card and the runner-up will receive a $50 card. North Shore Bank will donate the food collected during the race to the pantry. The race will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23.  All items collected during the race will feed local families in need.

“This is our twelfth and arguably, most crucial, Race for the Hungry helping our neighbors in need,” said Kerri Collins, district manager for the bank. “St. Joseph’s Food Program and other local food pantries have played a fundamental role in supporting our community amid the pandemic and they need our assistance. We encourage everyone to get involved by donating non-perishables to St. Joseph’s directly or providing a monetary donation through our Bank on Kindness website.”

New this year, North Shore Bank is supporting St. Joseph’s Food Program and other local food pantries through its Bank on Kindness give-back program. From now until Feb. 28, the public can donate directly to local food pantries of their choice through the community-focused website or by texting “Kindness” to 77938. North Shore Bank will be matching all donations up to $500 for each non-profit.
