BROOKFIELD, Wis. –
North Shore Bank today announced that the bank has been recognized with an Honorable Mention by American Bankers Association (ABA) Foundation’s 2020 Community Commitment Awards in the category of economic inclusion for their dedicated work serving the Latino community in the Milwaukee area.
The ABA Foundation Community Commitment Awards is a national program that recognizes and promotes the valuable ways banks contribute to economic growth, community development and enhancing the quality of life in their communities. North Shore Bank was the only bank in Southeastern Wisconsin to be recognized for the award in 2020.
In addition to the bank-wide commitment award, Alfredo Martin, area branch manager and leader of the bank’s Latino commitment efforts, was awarded a certificate of recognition for the annual George Bailey Distinguished Service Award, given to a non-CEO bank employee who demonstrates outstanding initiative, performs highly effective work and inspires others.
“We’re extremely proud of our staff who work day in and day out to serve and engage with our communities,” said Jay McKenna, president and COO of North Shore Bank. “As a bank, we’re honored to be recognized for this national, esteemed award and are thrilled that Alfredo’s hard work is being rightfully acknowledged as well.”
