KENOSHA, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced that it will host the twelfth annual Race for the Hungry event at Kenosha Festival Foods, 3207 80th St. Race for the Hungry is an annual community event that challenges participants in a head-to-head competition to support local food pantries.

This year’s event will benefit The Shalom Center food pantry. Representatives from the Shalom Center will be teaming up to race through the supermarket aisles to fill the pantry’s wish list. The winner will receive a $100 gift card and the runner-up will receive a $50 card. North Shore Bank will donate the food collected during the race to the pantry. The race will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23.  All items collected during the race will feed local families in need.

“We’re thrilled to be supporting The Shalom Center through our twelfth annual Race for the Hungry, just as the food pantry supported our community amid the pandemic,” said Danielle Hansen, assistant vice president for the bank. “We encourage everyone to get involved by donating non-perishables to The Shalom Center directly or providing a monetary donation through our Bank on Kindness website.”

New this year, North Shore Bank is supporting The Shalom Center and other local food pantries through its Bank on Kindness give-back program. From now until Feb. 28, the public can donate directly to local food pantries of their choice through the community-focused website or by texting “Kindness” to 77938. North Shore Bank will be matching all donations up to $500 for each non-profit.
