BROOKFIELD, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced that it will host the twelfth annual Race for the Hungry event at El Rey Food Mart, 1320 W. Burnham St. Race for the Hungry is an annual community event that challenges participants in a head-to-head competition to support local food pantries.

This year’s event will benefit the Milwaukee Christian Center. Representatives from the Milwaukee Christian Center will be teaming up to race through the supermarket aisles to fill the pantry’s wish list. The winner will receive a $100 gift card and the runner-up will receive a $50 card. North Shore Bank will donate the food collected during the race to the pantry. The race will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23.  All items collected during the race will feed local families in need.

“In our twelfth annual Race for the Hungry, we’re focusing our support on the crucial role that Milwaukee Christian Center played helping our neighbors in need through the pandemic,” said Alfredo Martin, area branch manager for the bank. “We encourage everyone to get involved by donating non-perishables to Milwaukee Christian Center directly or providing a monetary donation through our Bank on Kindness website.”

New this year, North Shore Bank is supporting Milwaukee Christian Center and other local food pantries through its Bank on Kindness give-back program. From now until Feb. 28, the public can donate directly to local food pantries of their choice through the community-focused website or by texting “Kindness” to 77938. North Shore Bank will be matching all donations up to $500 for each non-profit.
