North Shore Bank Named "Best Banks to Work For"

North Shore Bank was named one of the nation’s Best Banks to Work For by American Banker.

This award recognizes banks that offer employees competitive salaries and benefits and strive to make team members feel motivated, valued and engaged.

“We are thrilled to receive this distinguished award,” said Molly Schissler, vice president of human resources for North Shore Bank. “Our employees are the driving force behind our company, and without them we could not have achieved this recognition.”
North Shore Bank was specifically recognized for its commitment to community service through initiatives like its fall worn flag collections and annual bank wide free Community Shredding Day; its employee wellness program offerings like free flu shots and biometric screenings; and its helpful, friendly and professional employees.
To be considered for the award, banks must have at least 50 employees working in the U.S., and have to be a commercial bank, thrift, mutual association, mutual savings bank, savings and loan association, or a savings bank.
The selection process included an evaluation of each participating bank’s workplace policies, practices and demographics (25 percent) and an employee survey to assess the experiences and attitudes of individual employees (75 percent). The combined scores determined the top banks in the nation.
In all, 35 banks across the country achieved “Best Bank” status in this inaugural program. The full Best Banks to Work For list is featured in the November issue of American Banker Magazine and is available online at
