North Shore Bank MLK Branch Time Capsule

Our Martin Luther King Drive branch marked its 20th anniversary on October 24 with a public ceremony that included the unearthing of a time capsule from when the branch first opened in 1996 and re-installing and updating it with new material from today. United Construction opened the time capsule as those gathered, including children from Pristine Child Care Center, looked on.

At the ceremony, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett proclaimed the day “North Shore Bank Day” throughout the city.

The MLK Drive branch was among the first banks to move into the city’s Harambee neighborhood. The time capsule was placed behind the building’s cornerstone in 1996. Its contents included newspapers and artwork from local students. As part of the ceremony, the old time capsule was replaced with a new one from this year.

The bank is grateful for the relationships built with customers and community partners on King Drive and looks forward to many more. You can see pictures from the event here.
