Bank's 15th Worn Flag Collection Benefited Veteran Honor Flights

Worn Flag Retirement Ceremony

In October we invited people to drop-off their old, tattered American flags at any of our offices during our bank wide collection. Any flags that were dropped off were ensured to receive honorable retirement. Once again this year, we worked with local Boy Scout troops to prepare the flags and present them to veterans for respectful retirement in Veterans Day ceremonies in Green Bay and Brookfield.

The bank also pledged to donate $1 per flag – up to $1,500, in honor of this being our 15th collection – to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight in Southeast Wisconsin and Old Glory Honor Flight in Northeast Wisconsin. These organizations help fly veterans to their respective memorials in Washington D.C. We are thrilled to report that the community challenge was met and North Shore Bank gave each Honor Flight group $1,500!

Additionally, our corporate office employees held a Veterans Day fundraiser and raised nearly an additional $1,000 to help send veterans to Washington D.C. We are grateful for the service of our veterans and proud to be able to hold this event each year.
