- Yes. PyraMax Bank and North Shore Bank are now one bank for the purpose of calculating limits on FDIC Insurance on deposits. FDIC Insurance covers up to $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, for each account ownership category.
- However, the FDIC has a special rule that allows deposits in a customer’s accounts on the date two banks are combined to be separately insured – as if the two banks are still operating separately – for at least six months.
- This means if you have accounts at both PyraMax Bank and North Shore Bank, FDIC Insurance coverage of your deposits, up to the amount on deposit in your account on October 31, 2026, will remain separately insured through April 30, 2026, or possibly longer for certificates of deposit (CDs), depending on maturity date or if renewed. Separate FDIC Insurance coverage does not apply to increases to deposit balances after October 31, 2026.
- For businesses, the FDIC six-month coverage does not apply.
