Elavon, a trusted partner of North Shore Bank, is providing support for our business customers impacted by COVID-19. Together, we are working hard to identify solutions to assist you during these challenging times and minimize any potential long-term effects.

With that in mind, the below practices have been put in place to support you:
  • Beginning today, if you are considering a temporary closure of your business until you can resume normal operation, you can freeze your payment processing account and then unfreeze your account once you are ready to start accepting payments again. The only fees incurred during that time would be through the end of the month you were accepting payments. If interested, you can freeze your accounts here. An Elavon Customer Account Representative will follow-up with you to complete the process and will assist you when you are ready to unfreeze your account, as well.
  • In addition, Elavon is prepared to help you seamlessly transition to managing your business and accepting payments online, at no charge through September 30, 2020. We have merchant processing solutions available to accommodate your changing business needs. You can add online solutions to your accounts here.
Through our partnership with Elavon, North Shore Bank is here for you to help navigate this tough environment together. Elavon representatives and your North Shore Bank Business Banking team are available to answer any questions you may have.

Yes. You can get cash back with your contactless debit card. However, some merchants require customers requesting cash back to insert their contactless card, even when the payment terminal accepts contactless cards.

To enable contactless on a new or replacement North Shore Bank contactless debit card, you must make a purchase by inserting your card at a chip-enabled terminal. Inserting your card into the terminal will activate the contactless technology. The next time you make a purchase with your debit card, you will be able to use contactless.
