North Shore Bank to Start Construction on New, State-Of-The-Art Branch on Oakland Avenue in Shorewood

New, modern building to preserve North Shore Bank’s long history and heritage in Shorewood

SHOREWOOD, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced that later this week, it will begin construction on a new, state-of-the-art bank office at 4060 N. Oakland Ave. in Shorewood, on the southeast corner of Oakland and East Kenmore Place. The new office, which will open to the public in spring 2018, will feature an updated design concept and new technology that will offer customers more convenient banking options.

In planning this new branch, North Shore Bank has worked closely with Village staff to create a modern design that fits Shorewood’s central business district master plan. Construction will start with demolition of the existing structure on the property.

“The Village of Shorewood is North Shore Bank’s home,” said Shannon Weber, manager of the bank’s Shorewood branches. “It’s where our bank was founded in 1923, and we are so proud to be an active and involved member of this terrific community. We’re excited to be launching our future here in Shorewood. This modern, technologically advanced branch will help meet our customers’ evolving needs while maintaining our significant presence in the Village’s central business district.”

The new branch will feature an open concept lobby and cutting-edge technology like a drive-up remote teller machine, self-serve coin counter, interactive kiosk technology, video conferencing capabilities with product experts and more. The branch will be fully staffed with Concierge and Personal Bankers, a Branch Manager, and a Mortgage Loan Professional who will be on hand to help customers. The new technology and enhanced branch design will give customers more flexible options, including 70 hours/7 days a week extended banking hours.
North Shore Bank has two Shorewood branches, at 4414 N. Oakland and 3970 N. Oakland, both of which are located less than a half-mile from the new location. The two existing Shorewood branches will close when the new branch opens in 2018, at which point the staff from both branches will transfer to the new location or other nearby branches.

“History and heritage are very important to North Shore Bank and we have a long, proud history here in Shorewood,” Weber said. “The bank is an involved corporate citizen and supporter of a number of important civic groups, including those that celebrate the Village’s history, arts scene, business district, children and more. “

North Shore Bank, headquartered in Brookfield, has assets at $1.9 billion and 47 offices throughout eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. Wisconsin locations are in metro Milwaukee, Ozaukee County, Racine, Kenosha, Appleton, Menasha, Green Bay and surrounding areas, Burlington, Union Grove, Muskego, and Door County.
