North Shore Bank to Hold Community Safety Forum at Jackson Park Branch

After Recent Robberies, Forum Brings Area Businesses and Residents Together to Discuss Crime Prevention, Neighborhood Safety

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced that it will host a community forum on crime prevention and neighborhood safety at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at its Jackson Park location, 4230 W. Oklahoma Ave. The event follows a series of business robberies in the neighborhood, including one at the branch in which Milwaukee Alderman Joe Dudzik helped police apprehend four suspects.

This event will bring together bank representatives, business owners, residents and local officials, including Alderman Dudzik, and will serve as an introduction to a series of regular neighborhood safety discussions at North Shore Bank branches.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Alderman Dudzik and the police for their brave efforts,” said Janet Dexter, district manager for North Shore Bank. “In addition to that, we want to bring the community together to discuss how we can make businesses and residents in the Jackson Park neighborhood as safe as possible. It’s more important now than ever to work together to find a way that we can all feel safe in the community where we live and work.”

During Friday’s meeting, law enforcement representatives will provide some initial crime prevention tips and information, and Alderman Dudzik will share news of available fa├žade grants to help improve the neighborhood. Businesses will be able to sign up for the Milwaukee Police eAlert system to stay vigilant and informed. Light refreshments will be served.
