If you're traveling to a foreign country, it's critical to have some of the native currency in hand when you land. Often, currency exchange booths in airports abroad aren't open or charge exorbitant fees and ATM machines are frequently out of order. And food vendors or cab drivers seldom accept credit cards. Play it safe by exchanging some currency before you leave.
