Online Banking Login Security

North Shore Bank continues to take seriously your financial safety and security. On November 16th, Online Banking will feature enhanced login security that helps prevent your account information from being compromised. This process, coupled with computer identification, creates an ultra-secure environment for you to conduct your electronic banking.

How will my login process change?

On Wednesday, November 8th our homepage login area and login page will look different when you log in. Instead of entering your username and password on the same page, you will enter your password on a second page, after you have submitted your username. This is being done in preparation for our forthcoming security enhancements. Login change.

How will the security enhancement work?

When you log into your Online Banking account after November 16th, you will be asked to choose an authentication image and create a passphrase. The passphrase is different from your account password. During this process we will register your computer so we can identify it in the future and to make your future logins even smoother. Whenever you log into your account from that point on, using your registered computer, your chosen image and passphrase will be displayed. By displaying these verification items before you log in, you can be assured that you have arrived at your legitimate Online Banking account, and not a phishing clone. Security enhancement example.

What if you should happen to login to your Online Banking account using a computer other than the one you registered? Don't worry, you can verify a series of challenge questions that you have provided answers to, and then gain access to your account. That computer can also be registered, if it is one that you use often. There is no limit to the number of computers that you can register.

Can I access my Online Banking account from multiple computers?

Yes, you can access Online Banking from any number of computers.

If I wish to change my authentication image, can I?

Yes, select Change Image during log in or enrollment. You can choose from over 30,000 images. You can also change your image from within your Online Banking account by clicking on the "Options" menu.
