North Shore Bank to Host Free Community Shredding Day at All Branches on Saturday, May 5
Public invited to bring personal documents for free, secure shredding and attend a seminar by Brenden McDaniel of the TV show Hoarders
BROOKFIELD, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced it will hold its sixth annual bank-wide Community Shredding Day on Saturday, May 5, from 9 a.m. to noon. People can stop by any of North Shore Bank’s more than 45 Wisconsin branches to have outdated, personal documents securely shredded. During Community Shredding Day, the bank’s Brookfield Square branch, located at 15700 W. Bluemound Rd., will host seminars by guest speaker Brenden McDaniel of the TV show Hoarders. McDaniel will discuss how to create a clutter-free environment and create organized living spaces in seminars held at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Community Shredding Day and McDaniel’s seminars are free and open to the public.
“Properly disposing of materials that contain personal information is one of the best ways to guard against identity theft, and North Shore Bank encourages our neighbors and friends to take advantage of this free service during our sixth annual Community Shredding Day,” said Peggy Theisen, security officer for North Shore Bank. “We collected more than 65,000 pounds of documents for secure shredding last year and as people clear out closets, desk drawers and boxes, we hope to collect even more outdated documents for disposal.”
This year, all Shredding Day attendees are also welcome to enter a drawing during the event to win $1500 of free gas.
While materials will be accepted at all North Shore Bank branches, those who have larger quantities of papers for shredding (up to two boxes) are encouraged to visit one of seven branches that will have shredding trucks and specialists on site. Those locations are:
- Appleton - 1100 W. Northland Ave.
- Ashwaubenon - 2215 S. Oneida St.
- Brookfield - 15700 W. Bluemound Rd. (two trucks available)
- Fox Point - 600 E. Green Tree Rd.
- Grafton - 2301 Wisconsin Ave. (across from Sendik’s)
- Greendale - 5101 S. 76th Street (Southridge)
- Racine Regency - 5723 Durand Avenue
All shredded materials will then be recycled. Tips on how to prevent identity theft, how to decide what to keep or toss, and additional information about Community Shredding Day are available on the bank’s website (shredit.northshorebank.com) and at any North Shore Bank office.
