North Shore Bank Hosts Back-to-School Collection for Students in Need
School supply donations to be accepted through Aug. 5 at Waukesha County branches
BROOKFIELD, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced that it will collect school supplies through Aug. 5 to help area families with financial constraints. The bank has partnered with the Waukesha County Backpack Coalition, a team of local organizations committed to providing backpacks and school supplies to children in need.
Community members are encouraged to stop by a participating North Shore Bank office to make a donation during regular business hours. The supplies in highest demand are backpacks, supply boxes, wide-tip markers, fine-point permanent markers, glue sticks, compasses, protractors, dictionaries, index cards, three- and five-subject notebooks, blunt-tipped scissors, college ruled spiral notebooks, wide ruled spiral notebooks, three-ring binders, red pencils and loose-leaf paper. For anyone looking to donate cash, a donation of $25 provides a backpack full of grade-appropriate school supplies to one student, and donations in any amount will help.
“With the school year fast approaching, the unfortunate reality is that many families have difficulty affording school supplies,” said Margie Brusa, assistant vice president and branch manager of North Shore Bank’s Brookfield Square office. “This is a great way for us to give back to our community and help local kids.”
