North Shore Bank Partners With Green Bay Gamblers to Collect Caps for Cancer
Donations of new caps for area cancer patients will also be accepted at North Shore Bank branches; bank will give away 4-packs of Gamblers tickets
GREEN BAY, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced it is partnering with the Green Bay Gamblers hockey team for the 5th Annual Green Bay Gamblers Caps for Cancer, which collects new hats for area cancer patients. Hats can be donated at North Shore Bank's Green Bay, Door County, and Appleton area branches through Oct. 23, or brought to the Gamblers' Oct. 24 game against the Indiana Ice at the Resch Center.
Additionally, fans can register to win a free four-pack of tickets to the Oct. 24 game by visiting www.northshorebank.com/promos/capsforcancer. Registration deadline is Oct. 19 and multiple winners will be randomly selected.
Fans who bring new hats to the game will be given plastic bags in which to place the hats. After the Gamblers score their first goal, fans throw the bagged hats onto the ice. The hats are then collected and donated to Heavenly Hats, a local charity that provides them to cancer patients who have lost hair due to their illness or treatment.
A portion of ticket sales for the Oct. 24 game goes to the Vince Lombardi Research Center at Aurora Baycare Medical Center. The Gamblers will wear pink jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game, with those funds also benefitting cancer research.
"Caps for Cancer is a great event that helps so many in the Green Bay community, and North Shore Bank is proud to be a part of it," said Tricia Cravillion, vice president and district manager for the bank's Northeast region. "We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the game. If they can't do that, we hope they'll stop by any of our Green Bay branches to donate a hat and help an important cause on or before Oct. 23."
