North Shore Bank To Hold Community Shredding Day At All Wisconsin Branches On Saturday, April 12

Residents invited to bring personal documents for free shredding

BROOKFIELD, Wis. - North Shore Bank today announced it will hold its second annual bank-wide Community Shredding Day on Saturday, April 12. People can stop by any of North Shore Bank's 40 Wisconsin branches from 9 a.m. to noon to have outdated personal documents securely shredded. The event is free and open to the public.

"North Shore Bank recognizes the importance of identity protection and properly disposing of materials that contain personal information, and we encourage our neighbors and friends to participate in our second Community Shredding Day," said Peggy Theisen, security officer for North Shore Bank. "We collected more than 7,000 pounds of documents for secure shredding last year, and the timing is especially good this year as people are sorting through their personal papers at tax time."

The public is invited to bring in outdated, unneeded documents with personal information for shredding. Such documents may include old bank statements and other documents listing bank account information, credit card statements and documents listing credit card numbers, credit applications, pre-approved credit offers, old paycheck stubs and documents listing Social Security numbers. Those who have larger quantities of materials for shredding (up to two boxes) can visit one of the following locations:

Large mobile shredders and shredding specialists will be on hand at these locations to shred the documents and turn personal information into small, unrecognizable pieces of paper. All shredded materials will then be recycled. In addition, people who attend will also be able to learn more about how to prevent identity theft, what personal documents should be kept and for how long, and much more.

Additional information about the Community Shredding Day is available on the bank's Web site at shredding.northshorebank.com and at any North Shore Bank office.
