North Shore Bank's 'Candy Cane Lane' Branches Announce 'Change For A Cure'
West Allis area branches to hold change drive to benefit MACC Fund
WEST ALLIS, Wis. - North Shore Bank - the official bank of "Candy Cane Lane" - today announced that its branch at 92nd and Oklahoma, and at National and Cleveland Avenues in West Allis will hold a "Change for a Cure" drive from November 30 to December 24 in conjunction with the neighborhood's annual holiday fund-raiser. Proceeds will benefit Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc. (MACC Fund).
People can bring their loose change to the branch at 9131 W. Oklahoma or the branch at 10533 W. National in West Allis from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon. The bank will put the change through its on-site change counter, match the first $1,000 in donations and present a check to the MACC Fund.
"With our convenient locations just blocks from Candy Cane Lane, our bank has served as the organization's counting station for over 20 years," said Kevin Zsori, branch manager for the bank. "North Shore Bank has always been proud to support such a special holiday tradition, and with the availability of free coin counting machines at these locations, we wanted to do something extra this year to add to the community celebration. What's more, the MACC Fund is a terrific cause, and this is a great way to share the holiday spirit."
Every December for 23 years, the West Allis neighborhood bounded by Oklahoma and Montana avenues and 92nd to 96th streets is transformed into "Candy Cane Lane," a winter wonderland to benefit the MACC Fund. People come from all over the Midwest to drive or stroll through the uniquely decorated neighborhood. The event, open from 5 to 10 p.m. through Dec. 28, is free, and visitors may leave a donation if they wish.
