"We are excited to welcome the community into our new branch in the El Rey Foodmart store," said Alfredo Martin, market manager for North Shore Bank. "We are pleased to be able to serve the Hispanic community in a location that is convenient for them and look forward to continuing a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the Villarreals. We hope many members of the community will come out and join in the festivities."

Like the bank's former branch across the street at El Rey Nana's Market Mexican Grocery Store, this branch will also be open seven days a week. The branch has two ATMs, including a walk-up one that is located on the exterior wall of the store which is available 24 hours a day and community room that is available for banking seminars and financial counseling. All branch staff are bilingual and can help customers with their banking needs in both English and Spanish. The bank also has bilingual mortgage loan specialists to assist those entering on the home buying market.

As part of the grand opening celebration, on Saturday, March 31, there will be many activities, including balloons, giveaways and temporary tattoos for children, food, a prize contest and more. In addition, the bank's mascot "Ahorritos," the name that children from the community helped to give to "Seymour Savings" in his Latino attire, will be on hand to take photos with children, hand out prizes and more.

On Sunday, April 1, and in honor of the bank being open seven days a week, customers will be treated to free ice cream sundaes from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities for children will also take place throughout the day.
