Book Signing at North Shore Bank's Fox Point Branch on Friday, Aug. 31
Milwaukee authors Peter Pizzino and Tom Montag to sign advance copies of "Peter's Story"
FOX POINT, Wis. - North Shore Bank today announced that local authors Peter Pizzino and Tom Montag, will be at the bank's Fox Point branch from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31 for a book signing. The authors collaborated on "Peter's Story: Growing Up in Milwaukee's Third Ward during the 1920s & 1930s" which will be hitting bookstores later this fall. The Fox Point branch is located at 600 East Green Tree Road.
"Peter's Story" recollects Peter Pizzino's experiences as he grew up in Milwaukee's Italian community - the Third Ward. Pizzano's childhood included being abandoned by his mother when he was young and being raised by a strict and sometimes violent father. The book explains Peter's experiences with cleaning horse stalls, peddling vegetables, driving hijacked furs and liquor across the country, operating a tailoring business in Milwaukee and much more. Peter later operated a tailoring business in Shorewood and Whitefish Bay.
"We are pleased to invite the public to come out and meet Peter and Tom and to have the chance to get an autographed copy of "Peter's Story" before it officially hits the shelves," said Carol Bergen, branch manager for North Shore Bank's Fox Point Branch. "This is a unique opportunity and we hope many people will take come out and meet join in the activities."
In addition to autograph opportunities, those in attendance will also be able to enjoy Italian-themed refreshments that reflect Pizzino's Italian upbringing.
