North Shore Bank's Krupa Receives President's Award From Tempo International

BROOKFIELD, Wis. - North Shore Bank today announced that Dorothy Krupa, vice president - Internet Banking, received the President's Award from TEMPO International. The President's Award is an honor that is given to the member who demonstrates the highest quality of service to the organization's mission and values. She received the award at the organization's annual conference in Alberta, Canada.

Since joining TEMPO Milwaukee in 1982, Krupa has held many leadership positions with the organization, including chapter treasurer and president. She also served as president for TEMPO Envision, the organization's Waukesha County chapter and held a dual membership in both the Milwaukee and Envision chapters for more than 15 years.

In addition to being active in the local chapter, Krupa also served on the board of TEMPO International and held the positions of president, president-elect, past-president, treasurer and served on the advisory board. Krupa also served on numerous committees and chaired the 2004 annual conference. She is currently president for the TEMPO International Foundation. In that position, she has helped to generate a commitment of more than $116,000 in gifts and pledges from TEMPO members in 2006.

Krupa also serves as a mentor to young, aspiring professionals at North Shore Bank. She has had a lengthy career with the bank, starting in its accounting department, moving up to serve as department manager, leading the information technology department and finally to her current position as vice president for the bank. Krupa is breaking the ceiling for women at the bank and was the first woman in the bank's history to serve on the asset & liabilities committee. She also serves on the corporate charitable gifts committee.

Krupa, a resident of New Berlin, is also very involved in the community, serving on the New Berlin School Board for the past nine years. The New Berlin Historical Society, the YWCA of Waukesha board of directors and the Cardinal Stritch advisory board has also received a portion of her time and talents.

TEMPO is a global, nonprofit organization that provides networking opportunities for women. The organization's mission is to provide a professional environment to support, mentor and empower women leaders.
