Starting June 5 through June 24, people can bring a new game or toy to any North Shore Bank branch and receive one Summerfest admission ticket in exchange for the item.
"We are excited to partner with the Salvation Army and collect educational games and toys for children and families in our community who are in need," said Steve Steiner, senior vice president-Retail Banking for North Shore Bank. "This is a good opportunity for people to help put a smile on a child's face and help our neighbors. We will be collecting the items through June 24 at all North Shore Bank branches, and we encourage people to stop by a branch with a new, unwrapped toy to receive their ticket for free admission to Summerfest." The Summerfest ticket will be good for entrance to the festival from noon to 3 p.m. on North Shore Bank's Community Day, Saturday, July 1. North Shore Bank has 1,500 tickets to give away. "The hundreds of children who use the Salvation Army's services each year will truly benefit from the generosity of others," said Jamey Shiels, Community Relations Director of the Salvation Army. According to Shiels, the Salvation Army could use toys that are appropriate for children ages infant to 17. Suggested items include baby rattles, teethers, activity toys for infants, stuffed animals, dolls, Barbie dolls, coloring books and crayons, trucks, games and sports items.
