North Shore Bank To Build New Branch On Northland Avenue

Full-service branch to be first Appleton stand-alone bank to be open seven days a week

APPLETON, Wis. - North Shore Bank today announced it will build a full-service branch in an outlot of Cub Foods at 1200 Northland Ave. - and that it would be the first stand-alone bank in Appleton to be open seven days a week. The new office will be over 4,700 square feet and expand the bank's services to better assist customers in the Fox Cities. The Northland branch will replace the bank's current branch at 2835 W. College Ave., which is scheduled to close when the new office begins operations this summer.

Staff at the West College Avenue branch will move to the new branch, said Steve Arps, vice president and district manager of the bank's northeast region. In addition, the branch inside the Cub Foods store will remain open and continue to serve customers.

"We're excited about this new branch, and pleased to offer our Appleton customers the opportunity to take care of all of their banking needs seven days a week," Arps said. "Our research indicates that consumers want and need flexibility when it comes to banking, and this seven-day schedule is an excellent way for us to provide that flexibility to our customers."

The bank's branch at 1500 Appleton Road in Menasha will also expand its hours and adopt a seven-day schedule later this summer, Arps said.

The new Northland branch will offer three drive-up lanes, a drive-up ATM and commercial night depository, safe deposit boxes, high-speed Internet access and more. In order to better serve surrounding communities, the new location will also house the bank's Appleton/Fox Cities Mortgage Loan Center with business bankers and investment specialists available to assist customers. Once the new office opens, the office inside Cub Foods will be remodeled and continue to operate seven days a week as well.

"Our move to Northland Avenue makes a great deal of sense, both for our bank and our customers," Arps said. "The new location is closer to where our Appleton-area customers live, and that means added convenience for them. The opportunity to build will allow us to take advantage of new technology and provide additional services that will help us serve our customers even better. The Cub Foods branch will stay open, which means that shoppers will continue to be able to enjoy the convenience of an in-store bank. And all of our customers will continue to be served by the same friendly and experienced North Shore Bank personnel they've come to rely on over the years."

Construction is expected to start by early March, and the branch is expected to open in July, Arps said.

North Shore Bank has two other stand alone, full-service offices in the Appleton area - in downtown Appleton at 320 E. College Avenue and in Menasha at 1500 Appleton Road, plus 16 offices in Northeastern Wisconsin.

North Shore Bank, headquartered in Brookfield, was founded in 1923. It has assets of $1.8 billion, and a total of 41 branches throughout eastern Wisconsin. In addition to branches in the Fox Valley, current branches are located in Green Bay, Howard, Allouez, Pulaski, De Pere, Algoma, Two Rivers, Door County, metro Milwaukee, Racine, Union Grove, Kenosha, and Burlington.
